Meet Chris Minnucci, The Do-It-Yourself Investor
I’m an early retiree, writing to help others navigate the path to financial independence and a secure, comfortable retirement. Formerly I was a mining engineer at a large consulting company. Thanks to many, many hours spent learning about investing I was able to retire to part-time status at the ripe old age of 49.
More recently (age 56) I retired fully from my old job, to start my own business. As President of Capital Strategies Press, LLC, I am now able to spend my time pursuing my passion: teaching other amateur investors like myself the ins and outs of successful investing and retirement planning.
Yes, you could describe me as a financial geek. I’ve written a book on investing for, and in, retirement—The Death of Buy and Hold. I’ve been interviewed on the website TheStreet.com, and on Forbes’ website. Having taken great pains to educate myself on the intricacies of the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare), I’ve also started a blog to help early retirees maximize their healthcare benefits and minimize their costs.
